Find Your Stride

PUMA's best-kept secret just got better. The Deviate Nitro 4 sharpens everything that made its predecessor great — lighter, more flexible, and built for runners who want propulsion without the bulk.
The Deviate Nitro 3 already had a loyal following among runners who wanted a propulsive, lightweight trainer without the maximal cushioning trend. The Deviate Nitro 4 doesn't reinvent it — it refines it, and the changes are meaningful.
The midsole now runs a dual-layer setup: a new NITROFOAM ELITE compound on top adds elevated rebound and responsiveness, while the original NITROFOAM compound below works with PUMA's carbon-composite PWRPLATE to drive propulsion. The PWRPLATE itself gets a notable upgrade with a new forked construction that increases plate flexibility, trims weight, and maintains the supportive, forward-driving feel that defines this line. The result is a shoe that feels snappier and more natural underfoot than before.
The upper is an engineered knit reinforced with PUMA's PWRTAPE for a secure, supportive wrap, and a rolled collar construction improves heel comfort and fit. One of the more welcome changes is a roomier, more rounded toe box — the Deviate Nitro 3 ran narrow, and PUMA has addressed that without loosening the locked-in feel through the midfoot. PUMAGRIP rubber on the outsole delivers the same reliable multi-surface traction as its predecessor.
If the Deviate Nitro 3 never quite fit your foot, the Deviate Nitro 4 might be the version that finally does.
