The ASICS Magic Speed 5 returns with a sharper identity, dialing back the bulk to recapture the fast, connected feel that made earlier versions so beloved. With a noticeably lower stack height than its predecessor, this fifth iteration leans into agility, precision, and confident cornering—blurring the line between lightweight racer and performance trainer. The result is a shoe that feels purpose-built for speed days, track sessions, and hard efforts where ground feel matters.

Borrowing key DNA from the elite METASPEED Edge Tokyo, the Magic Speed 5 features a full-length top layer of FF LEAP superfoam, ASICS’ lightest and most energetic compound. This sits atop a stabilizing layer of FF BLAST™ PLUS, creating a balanced platform that’s snappy yet controlled. Sandwiched between the foams is a reconfigured full-length carbon plate, delivering aggressive propulsion and a crisp toe-off without overpowering the ride.

Underfoot, ASICSGRIP™ rubber ensures reliable traction across roads and track surfaces alike, while the breathable engineered mesh upper keeps weight low and lockdown race-ready. Finished with notched racing laces for a secure fit, the Magic Speed 5 is lean, responsive, and unapologetically fast—designed for runners who want speed without excess.

• FF BLAST™ PLUS bottom layer of foam keeps the ride responsive and durable. Overall, the midsole is made in part from bio-based material.

• Dope-dyed sockliner significantly reduces water, energy, and chemical usage compared to standard dyeing methods.
