Details

The Mizuno Wave Horizon 9 is a premium stability trainer engineered specifically for overpronators and runners with larger builds who need durable, high-mileage cushioning with reliable support. Built to handle the demands of consistent weekly training, it delivers a plush, guided ride that keeps your stride in check without ever feeling restrictive.

The dual-layer midsole is the foundation of the Wave Horizon 9's performance. Enerzy NXT foam sits closest to the foot, providing enhanced energy return and a lively, responsive feel with every stride. Beneath it, a base layer of Enerzy foam adds the stability and durability needed to support heavier runners and higher training loads over the long term. Together the two layers create a ride that is both cushioned and controlled — soft enough for comfortable long runs, firm enough to prevent excessive pronation from creeping in as fatigue sets in.

The X10 carbon rubber outsole delivers exceptional grip and wear resistance, keeping you confident on the road while extending the life of the shoe through high-mileage training cycles. Up top, the Smooth Stretch Woven upper wraps the foot in a comfortable, adaptive fit, while a gusseted tongue eliminates unwanted shifting and keeps everything locked securely in place from start to finish.

While the Wave Horizon 9 sits on the sturdier end of the weight spectrum, it comes in noticeably lighter than its predecessor — a welcome improvement that makes the shoe feel more agile without compromising on the durability and protection that define the Horizon lineup.

For overpronators who want a dependable, long-lasting stability trainer that delivers comfort run after run, the Wave Horizon 9 is built for the task.

MIDSOLE

  • ENERZY NXT foam creates a full-length top layer of supercritical EVA for a touch of lighter, softer bounce.
  • ENERZY foam forms a full-length bottom layer of EVA for just-right cushioning and stability.
  • FOAM WAVE technology combines the two foams in a wave-shaped design that offers comfort and support.

OUTSOLE

  • X10 rubber is Mizuno's most durable rubber compound for longer wear.

UPPER

  • Smooth Stretch Woven fabric delivers premium breathability and comfort, almost entirely from recycled content.
  • Gusseted tongue helps your ideal fit stay consistent throughout runs.
